U.S. Supreme Court Decision

Today the Supreme Court issued a 4-4 decision in the St. Isidore Case regarding religious charter schools in Oklahoma.

This decision leaves the Oklahoma Supreme Court ruling in place – which means religious charter schools are not allowed to open and operate in Oklahoma. There was no written decision by the US Supreme Court which adds no new precedent, or guidance moving forward.

The case has sparked a healthy discussion in Wisconsin about the statutory definition of Independent Charter Schools being “public.” We will have more on this case and Wisconsin- specific items in the near future.  You can read more about the ruling HERE.
